# Who is Autocap For?

AutoCap is designed for **Storage Providers** who generate real economic activity on Filecoin and want a transparent, automated path to accessing Filecoin Plus (FIL+) DataCap.

In particular, AutoCap is well-suited for Storage Providers who:

* Provide services that generate **economic activity via Filecoin Pay**
* **Want transparent, automated access to DC** based on verifiable on-chain behavior
* Prefer a competitive, rule-based allocation mechanism over manual applications

By offering services that settle through Filecoin Pay, including, but not limited to, storage-related workflows, participants can:

* Generate on-chain economic activity measurable by AutoCap
* Earn DataCap allocations through AutoCap rounds
* Use the allocated DataCap to make verified storage deals under the Filecoin Plus program

Participation in AutoCap is **entirely optional** and does not affect access to DataCap through existing Filecoin Plus allocators and processes.

AutoCap does not replace the current FIL+ model. Instead, it introduces an **additional access path** based on an *action-first, reward-later* approach, where allocation follows demonstrated contribution rather than prior approval.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://lucas-documentation.gitbook.io/docs/who-is-it-for.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
